Paul Stephen Lim organized the first Endacott Society Junior-Senior Prom, held on Saturday, April 20, 2019, 7-9 p.m., in the ballroom at the Adams Alumni Center. The theme was “Every Man a King! Every Woman a Queen!”
Around 70 people attended the event, with their choice of three photo booths to have their pictures taken–with Queen Elizabeth II, with crown and tiara underneath a Crown Royal neon sign, and on “The Red Carpet.” Lots of finger food and two kinds of punch, one of them liberally spiked with rum. Junkyard Jazz with singer Erin Fox provided the lively dance music, and Linda Mannering played show tunes on the grand piano during the interval. Among the door prizes awarded at the end of the evening were two $75 gift certificates to Downtown Lawrence shops and restaurants, a $100 Amazon.com gift card, and a free night’s stay at the Oread Hotel.
Helping Lim with the event were the following Endacott members: Omofolabo Ajayi-Soyinka, Nora Clark and Carolyn Madaus. Videotaping the entire proceedings was Alan Swarts.
