Opera: Nixon in China

Inspired by historical events in 1972, Nixon in China is an opera by John Adams, with a libretto by Alice Goodman. It premiered at the Houston Grand Opera in 1987, and the brilliant production by Peter Sellars was later presented at the Metropolitan Opera, conducted by the composer, featuring James Maddalena as Richard Nixon, Janis Kelly as Pat Nixon, Robert Brubaker as Chairman Mao, Kathleen Kim as Madame Mao, etc. Please note the starting time at 1 PM.
