A stylish political thriller where love and war collide in Southeast Asia.  Set in early 1950s Vietnam, a young American, Pyle, played by Brendan Fraser, becomes entangled in a dangerous love triangle when he falls Phuong, the beautiful mistress of Fowler, a British journalist played by Michael Caine.  As war is waged around them, these three only sink deeper into a world of drugs, passion, and betrayal where nothing is as it seems.  Directed by Philip Noyce and written by Graham Greene (novel) and Christopher Hampton (screenplay), the movie was Oscar nominee for Best Actor in a Leading Roll and received 13 wins and 14 nominations for other awards.
