Retirement: Infinity and Beyond
For more than 25 years, John C. Tibbetts taught KU courses in film history, media studies, and theory and
aesthetics. Early in his career, he was a broadcaster in Kansas City and contributed arts and entertainment
features to national outlets. He has also edited a classic film magazine and written and illustrated
numerous books; he holds a Ph.D. in multidisciplinary studies from KU (art history,
theater, photography and film). Now retired, Tibbetts has made made of his celebrity video interviews,
conducted over more than 30 years, available online at youtube.com/johnctibbettsinterviews. He’ll
demonstrate this project and discuss other creative pursuits.
