1863 Lawrence Massacre (AKA, “Quantrill’s Raid”). What better time to learn about one of the men who fought against slavery during the Kansas-Missouri Border War? The violent story of little-known (and short-lived) Marshall Cleveland is told in a vividly written new book by David Hann, retired administrator in KU’s Office of Research. He will discuss his book and its subject and respond to questions. His book is available in Lawrence bookstores and the Watkins Museum of History. David will also bring copies with him.
