After the long pandemic-imposed silence, I’m delighted to tell you that it’s time to sing together once more!  We’ll gather for an outdoor gathering on Friday, October 22 at 10:30 am in Susan Rendall’s lovely garden at 1879 East 1700 Road. An editor at the Journal-World has expressed interest in the occasion, so it’s possible that we’ll have a story and photo for the occasion.
We’ll be singing familiar songs about autumn, the moon (harvest, blue, paper, etc.), and strangers becoming “strangers no more.”  Bruce Douglas, who used to join us at the piano for some of our pre-pandemic sessions, will be with us to accompany on his  keyboard.  Coffee and treats will be provided.  We’re requesting that each attendee bring a foldup chair to sit on.
The two-week weather forecast for the Lawrence area for October 22 is a cloudy day (not followed by rain) with a high in the mid-60s. Given the limited accuracy of long-range forecasts, that may of course not hold.  If we have to cancel I’ll let everyone know and start working on when we might reschedule.
I really need to hear from you if you plan to attend, so we have some idea of how many to plan for.  PLEASE RSVP AT MY EMAIL ADDRESS:  woelfel@ku.edu.  If you need directions, just let me know.  And keep in mind that this is not a talent search; we’re singing just for fun!
