Mozart’s Die Entfuhrung Aus Dem Serail (The Abduction in the Seraglio) takes place in the palace of the Pasha in 16th century Turkey, but this version updates the setting to a contemporary fashion house filled with glamorous models who are ruled imperiously by its autocratic designer. What makes it even more unique was how the production was filmed live for a television audience from various areas in and around Hangar-7 in Salzburg, with a small audience moving from area to area, watching Javier Camarena trying to rescue his beloved from the clutches of the bad guy.
