Christmas is not Christmas without Bach‘s Christmas Oratorio, and one of the best recordings of it available on DVD comes to us live from the beautiful St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, Germany, conducted by Gotthold Schwarz, featuring the children’s choir and the Thomanerchor in Leipzig, and an impressive lineup of soloists, among them Dorothee Mields, Elvira Bill, Markus Schafer, Klaus Hager, and Patrick Grahi as the Evangelist.
