Music Appreciation:  Sondheim’s Company

Stephen Sondheim’s groundbreaking 1970 musical Company was revived in the spring of 2011 with a legendary concert version at Lincoln Center featuring Neil Patrick Harris as the eligible bachelor all his married friends have been trying unsuccessfully to get hitched.  The extraordinary ensemble includes Patti LuPone, Jim Walton, Christina Hendricks and Stephen Colbert, singing such classics as “Ladies Who Lunch,” “Side by Side by Side,” and “Being Alive.”  (Closed-captioned, 145 minutes.)
