River of No Return
The titular river unites a farmer recently released from prison for killing a man while defending another (Robert Mitchum),  his young son who barely remembers his father (Tommy Rettig), and an ambitious saloon singer (Marilyn  Monroe). Misfortune throws the three together and forces them to travel by raft to a destination where they hope to  recover losses. Their survival will compel each to be purged of anger and learn to understand and care for the others. Directed by Otto Preminger. (1954. 1 hour, 31 minutes).
