Farewell My Concubine
Two boys meet at an opera training school in Peking in 1924.  They form an operatic duo and become famous as top-class performers.  Their act and ultimately their friendship is tested by changes China endures over the next few decades, in particular the Japanese invasion and occupation, the communist takeover, and Mao’s Cultural Revolution.  They are reunited in 1990 and perform their act for the first time in years.
